Goal: Ban the sale and distribution of foam food service containers in Illinois
The Illinois General Assembly is considering a new law (Senate Bill 1531) that would eliminate the sale and distribution of foam food service containers in the State of Illinois. If passed, this law would help prevent one of the most commonly littered items from continuing to plague our shorelines and waterways.
Surfrider Foundation Chicago is working with allies leading this campaign, including Alliance for the Great Lakes and Illinois Environmental Council, to advocate for passage of this bill.
